Treating Ourselves
A few days ago, some friends came over and I invited them to stay for dinner. As it was spur of the moment, I didn’t have anything planned. I wanted to make them something special –since we grow truffles, our friends are always expecting us to surprise them with something different and, of course, made with truffles.
I looked in the fridge and found a few tomatoes from the garden. I checked the freezer and found a humble box of frozen prawns from the grocery store, took a look at the pantry and the idea occurred to me. The menu was as follows: sliced tomatoes drizzled with truffle oil and grilled prawns drizzled with truffle-infused cognac that transformed those humble prawns into a spectacular dish.
My friends were delighted with this simple, quick recipe that I’m sharing with you now. We can use truffles in this dish and many other ways although it’s not in season. Why don’t you give me your suggestions?
