Protagonist: the truffle.
Today I will tell you of two films in which the truffle participates in several scenes. One is a very entertaining romantic comedy “No Reservations”, in which Kate Armstrong (Zeta-Jones), a famous chef at a trendy restaurant in Manhattan has to take care of her niece nine years (Breslin) and, same time, resolve their differences with Nick (Eckhart), his new assistant kitchen. In a funny scene the chef buys several copies of truffle and later cooking them with his niece; when the niece smells the truffles thrown them away without knowing how valuable they are.
The other is an endearing film, “The cook of the president” that tells the true story of Hortense Laboire, a prestigious chef of Perigord which hires president of France, Francois Mitterand, as personal cook. The president says he wants to recover the “taste of food” so the cook prepares the president toast with oil and succulent slices of truffle.
I recommend you both of films to see with your family, surely you pass a very entertaining time.
